Jeremiah Jensen, Student Intern
Ages 12+, Life Transitions · Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction · ADHD · Grief · Trauma
Jeremiah earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and is currently completing his master's degree in counseling at Southern Methodist University. As a counselor intern, he works with individuals across the lifespan, with a particular passion for helping adolescents, young adults, and men build confidence, discover purpose, and create meaningful lives.
Jeremiah believes that every person has the capacity to grow beyond their current circumstances. Drawing from mindfulness-based stress reduction and existential therapy, he helps clients slow down, gain clarity, identify their unique strengths, and connect with the values that give their lives meaning. His goal is to help clients move toward becoming the fullest expression of who they are.
Known for his warm, conversational, and approachable style, Jeremiah creates an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. He brings authenticity, humor, and genuine curiosity into the counseling room, making it easier to explore life's challenges while fostering lasting growth and resilience.
Before pursuing counseling, Jeremiah worked in journalism, where he developed a deep appreciation for listening well and uncovering the stories that shape people's lives. That experience continues to inform his work as he helps clients recognize the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that influence who they are today. He also has experience working with families, adolescents, young adults, and individuals with ADHD.
Outside of the counseling office, Jeremiah enjoys cooking for friends, discovering great coffee, playing music, and spending time with his wife and their dogs.
Jeremiah is supervised by Morton Nixon, LPC-S.
