Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Keri Riggs, M.A., LPC-S. Susan grew up in Dallas and graduated from Southern Methodist University. After the calling to counseling became deafening five years ago, she went back to school and earned a master’s degree in professional counseling from Amberton University.

Susan believes wholeheartedly in counseling and its amazing, life-changing benefits. She is a positive counselor who stresses acceptance of oneself. Being able to help clients and witness their self-actualizing and growth is one of God’s greatest blessings in her life.

Susan counsels individuals of all ages and provides a warm, non-judgmental, and safe environment to facilitate growth. She utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy to promote positive thinking outcomes. In addition, Susan works with couples and stresses the importance of communication skills, conflict resolution, strengthening connections, and just plain fun in a relationship. Susan is PREPARE/ENRICH certified and enjoys helping engaged couples identify strengths and areas of growth through assessment and guidance before or after they walk down the aisle. She is also Gottman Level 1 trained and utilizes this approach when working with couples. She loves to help clients with their challenges, goals, and dreams for the future.

 Susan has been happily married for 24 years and has a 19-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son, an overweight Mini Dachshund, and two feisty cats. She plays pickleball every chance she gets and enjoys gardening, cooking, and brisk walking. Susan also loves playing mahjong and cards with friends.
