Kristen Hatton, LPC Associate

Ages 12+, Young Females · Parenting/Family Systems · Life Transitions · Faith Integration

Kristen Hatton is a Christian author, speaker, and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Kari Stainback, LPC-S. She has written four books; three for teenagers and her latest, Parenting Ahead, for parents before the teen years. In 2019, after more than twenty years of mothering and lay counseling, Kristen decided to return to school for a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University.

As a professional counselor Kristen works with teen girls, parents, and women of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, relational conflict, life transitions and more. While she naturally operates from a biblical worldview integrating faith in counseling, Kristen gladly meets all clients where they are. Kristen believes the most important aspect of counseling is in the therapeutic relationship. Furthermore, because Kristen does not see counseling as a one-fit for all, she draws from several counseling modalities including family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and internal family systems (IFS). She has received training for these modalities, as well as Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Making Sense of Your Worth, anxiety, grief, trauma, and eating disorder counseling. Kristen is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Kristen and her husband have three adult children and a son-in-law. Outside of work, Kristen is active in her church, enjoys being outdoors, traveling, entertaining, writing and watching football. Her writing can be found on her own website www.kristenhatton.com, or find her RedemptiveParenting online ministry to parents on Instagram.
